Meteorologists are saying if you picked THIS week to visit Maine (or New England) you picked the best week of summer so far - still a bit hot for my taste, but limited rain and fog - rocky coast and lighthouses in their full glory, and visible! At 4pm Embark Maine Tours is running our Downtown Bath Walking Tour. Things to do in Bath, Maine this weekend, July 14th-16th, 2023

On Saturday morning, from 8:30-12noon the Bath Farmers’ Market (heirloom tomatoes pictured above) will be at Waterfront Park, as usual. We are running our Downtown Tour at 9:30am, as usual. And, from 11am-2pm, Lisa-Marie’s Made in Maine continues their “Meet the Maker” series with fellow Bath-entrepreneur and photographer Benjamin Williamson. Williamson is the former photo editor for Downeast magazine and as such has all the best tips for visiting shutterbugs and some great pieces to take home from your visit to Maine.

The 1840s and 50s was a time of a huge increase in immigration to the United States, especially coming from Ireland, where the failure of the staple potato crop caused widespread famine. Refugees fled to America, in hopes of a new start, or at least a chance to survive. Many came to Bath, Maine.
