Bath, Maine-as seen in Downeast Magazine
The May 2026 issue of Downeast Magazine features the charming city of Bath, Maine!
Bath is featured in the May 2026 Issue of Downeast Magazine! I have loved Downeast since I was a kid growing up in Los Angeles. My family subscribed to Vermont Life (my father went to school in the Green Mountain State) and I sought out other New England magazines to fuel my research of one day moving “back east” for college. So fun to see my adopted hometown featured! I always say, if I was visiting Maine, and I didn’t know about Bath, I would be MAD! Now, more people will know!
Below are just some of the local businesses featured.
Solo Pane Pasticerria - a great place for a latte, a baked good, a pizza, a gelato, a sandwich…you get it!
Green Arrow Yarn!
Open Door Books, one of four independent book stores featured. My strategy here is to find a spot, and stay there.
I had a chance to submit an advertisement for Embark and am honored to be opposite a feature about Sunshine Larry. Our local orange cat (IYKYK) has been experiencing a well-earned PR boost recently. This feature is just the icing on the cake!
Double-page spread in May 2026 Downeast Magazine with Embark Ad (left) and our Unofficial Mayor and Very Orange Cat, Sunshine Larry, featured (right). Thank you to my niece-in-law Lauren, a communications pro from Texas whose family LOVES Bath, for helping me design the ad.
Designing an ad can be fun - and frustrating! Little changes can make or break. In addition to Lauren’s help, I got a little feedback from my Instagram followers and am happy with how it turned out! The inset photo covered the stop sign neatly. And though showing people’s backs is generally a “no-no” I think it gives off a sort of “Come follow along!” energy.
I am sure the Downeast feature will bring more eyes and visitors to Bath, but we will still retain all the charm of a favorite hidden gem!
